iEAF® for DRI Process

Technical Data

The iEAF® technology for the DRI furnace is used to continuously monitor gas-phase, energy, and bath/slag properties and provide real-time control of EAF operation by dynamic adjustment to process parameters.  The objective is to implement closed-loop control of:

Oxygen injection

Carbon injection

DRI feed rate, based on material characteristics (metallization, composition)

Electrical Power

Lime injection

Flux addition prediction based on material characteristics and real time information.
