The process consists in the fast cooling of the liquid slag mixed with residual steel by forced air stream to allow their rapid solidification.

The final goal of the project is the recovery of CaO (lime), which is approximately 55% of the total SMS slag stream.

Tenova will provide a complete analysis for each customer scenario following this path:

• Definition of the chemical and physical properties of the slag
• Design of the fan size and the definition of the working points
• Granulometry determination and Particles cooling model
• Computation Fluido Dynamic modelling
