Slag tapping temperatures typically range between 1400°C and 1600 °C, depending on the specific feed mix and target slag chemistry.
Adjustments to slag chemistry are possible to make modifications and achieve various slag design targets, including viscosity and resulting fiber characteristics.
Depending on the overall plant configuration, the SAF can be designed to recycle a fairly high percentage of “shot” (waste or off-spec material).
