Mass and Energy Balance & Historian

Mass and Energy Balance

The mass and energy balance is critical to understanding and optimizing furnace performance. This balance involves tracking the input and output of materials (mass) and energy within the system. The FIS Mass and Energy Balance system allows a user to capture the chemical compositions of ores, fluxes and reductants.

These maybe combined into batches and used to process results of a mass and energy balance. The system is also capable of integrating into a live feed system and produce mass and energy balance results of a live furnace operation.
Key Features:

  • Process Optimization: Determine the optimal raw material mix and operating parameters.
  • Energy Efficiency: Reduce energy consumption per ton of metal produced.
  • Environmental Compliance: Minimize off-gas emissions and manage slag by-products effectively.
  • Operational Control: Monitor real-time furnace performance and troubleshoot deviations

Historian

Historian is a powerful tool for managing and analyzing large volumes of data generated by furnace operations. It stores data in a time-series format, allowing for detailed historical analysis and supporting long-term process optimization.

Key Features:

  • Extensive Data Collection: Historian collects data from all sensors and devices within the furnace system, ensuring comprehensive coverage of operational metrics.
  • Long-Term Storage: Data is stored in time-series databases, which are optimized for handling large datasets over extended periods.
  • Historical Analysis: The system provides tools for analyzing historical data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions to improve future operations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Historian supports compliance with industry regulations by providing accurate records of operational data, which can be easily accessed for audits and reporting.
