Tenova’s sustainable technologies will regenerate waste acid in the plant’s pickling line, minimizing its environmental impact
Tenova was contracted by Delna S.p.A., an ArcelorMittal CLN Distribuzione Italia Group company and primary provider of pickling service of coils and wire rod, for the supply of a 2.000 l/h Acid Regeneration Plant (ARP) for its plant in Brivio, Italy.
Tenova Italimpianti’s technologies will boost the green transition of Delna’s plant by recovering the waste acid used in its pickling line, minimizing its environmental footprint.
The new ARP will incorporate the advanced BLUEdriven™ solutions, managed through a customized monitoring process to enhance production flexibility and optimize operational costs while ensuring minimal environmental impact. The BLUEdriven™ FlexCapacity process allows for flexible adjustments in steel production without interrupting ARP operations, optimizing energy use while extending the plant's operational lifespan.
Additionally, the ARP will feature Tenova’s ZeroWaste automated process, which recycles rinsing and scrubber water at varying concentrations while recovering chlorides from the production cycle. This closed-loop system minimizes waste and improves efficiency, and its modular design enables future upgrades without major equipment changes, keeping the plant adaptable to technological advancements.
The ARP’s BLUEdriven™ Emission Control system will guarantee compliance with stringent environmental regulations, featuring an effluent-free, multi-stage cleaning process that prevents contamination and meets Best Available Technology (BAT) standards.
Finally, the plant will connect to Tenova’s IIoT platform via Tenova Edge, enabling real-time performance monitoring and control.
Upon completion, Tenova will provide 24 months of technical and technological support, both remotely and on-site, to ensure continuous performance optimization.
