Building on over four decades of joint projects and nearly 1,000 Pomini Tenova machines already equipped exclusively with Siemens technologies, the partnership enters its next phase. It now aims to elevate technological excellence in the rolling mill sector to a new level of performance, reliability, and digitalization. For mutual customers, the benefits include extended machine lifecycles and safeguarding existing investments, while enhancing overall operational efficiency.
The enhanced collaboration leverages the complementary expertise of the two companies. As the OEM, Pomini Tenova contributes deep process know-how and proven technologies in roll grinding, inspection, roll shop automation, and digital solutions. Siemens, on the other hand, provides advanced CNC-based control systems as well as drive and automation technology. This interaction also contributes to integrated safety and future-proof cybersecurity solutions for machine tools.
The renewed focus of the partnership places the transition to fully autonomous machines at the forefront. By tightly integrating Pomini Tenova’s mechanical upgrades and process-specific accessories with the advanced Siemens technologies, the collaboration sets the basis for fully autonomous operation. This is achieved through digital monitoring and diagnostic tools as well as predictive maintenance. It also supports continuous process optimization, leveraging Industrial AI-based features. Revamping solutions deliver increased productivity, reduced downtime, and improved safety standards, while maximizing performance and helping to ensure high grinding quality throughout the entire machine operating life.
