The Breakthrough Technology Conference 2025

December 2-3, 2025
Singapore

Worldsteel’s Breakthrough Technology Conference 2025 will unite steel industry professionals, R&D leaders, academics, research institutions, and international organizations in Singapore to exchange knowledge and showcase innovations in low-emission steelmaking. The event will feature presentations on technologies that significantly cut CO₂ emissions from iron and steel production, including hydrogen reduction, hydrogen use, CCS, CCU, and the use of metallics such as scrap and iron ore. Held over two days, the conference is part of worldsteel’s broader efforts to drive and support a global transformation in steel manufacturing and usage.

Stefano Maggiolino, Tenova HYL President & CEO, will attend the Panel discussion 1: Rethinking reduction - process, energy, raw materials on December 2. He will discuss how reduction processes, traditionally defined by energy sources, feedstock, or both, can be reimagined to achieve deeper CO₂ reduction through innovative combinations of materials and energy. The panel will explore key factors, practical examples, and emerging opportunities driving this transition toward low-emission steelmaking.
