"The Future of EU Steel Research - How to foster EU steel leadership” event focuses on advancing innovation and sustainability in Europe’s steel industry. It highlights the role of the Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS) in driving decarbonization, competitiveness, and industrial transformation. Through presentations of RFCS projects, it will showcase breakthroughs in low to zero-emission steelmaking, energy efficiency, and circular economy solutions. The conference brings together researchers, industry experts, and policymakers to discuss how EU steel can lead globally by integrating innovation, policy feedback, and scalable technologies. The event will take place in Mönchengladbach, Germany, on November 26, 2025, and is jointly organized by ESTEP, EUROFER, and the Research Executive Agency (REA).
