This April 28, Tenova joins the international community in observing the World Day for Safety and Health at Work
We mark the World Day for Safety and Health at Work every year on 28 April to promote the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases globally. First observed by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 2003, it’s a day for raising awareness, protecting lives, preventing harm, and ensuring that every worker can carry out their job in safety and dignity.
At Tenova, safety is paramount. Not just for our employees but for all our stakeholders - from our clients and suppliers to our subcontractors and consultants. Our ‘Safety First’ approach is about promoting a culture of safety among our people, while our ‘Safety by Design’ means we design robust safeguards directly into our technologies.
From worksites to production facilities, technology labs to offices, we make the mental and physical wellbeing of our people and those they interact with a priority. No matter where our facilities are located, we apply the most stringent international safety regulations, conduct regular safety training sessions, and continuously analyze error reports, warning flags, and near misses.
As the world of work evolves, the latest ILO Global Report shows how factors like job design, management practices, and workplace culture have a direct impact on workers’ health, dignity, and well-being. At Tenova, we strive to ensure a healthy psychosocial work environment by cultivating an open work culture that strengthens accountability, and by creating an equitable and supportive workplace that allows all our employees to thrive and feel part of a community.
When it comes to wellbeing, we believe it is the cornerstone to building a resilient and progressive organization.
