The new foundation-free work roll grinder will expand roll shop capacity at the company’s Karasu cold rolling facility in Türkiye
Pomini Tenova, a leading global supplier of roll shop equipment and services, has signed a new contract with Gazi Metal for the supply of a foundation-free work roll grinding machine for its Karasu (Sakarya, Türkiye) cold rolling facility.
The order supports Gazi Metal’s ongoing strategy to increase roll shop capacity and improve operational efficiency at one of Türkiye’s key cold rolling production sites.
The newly ordered Pomini Tenova work roll grinder is a high-precision, digitally advanced system designed for optimal performance in modern roll shop environments. Its foundation-free configuration enables simplified installation and reduced infrastructure requirements.

- Reduced civil works, lower costs and shorter timelines for site preparation
- Increased roll shop throughput and higher overall productivity
Delivery is scheduled for early 2027, followed by commissioning shortly thereafter.

The visit also featured a presentation of PDSA (Pomini Digital Surface Analysis), an AI-powered surface inspection technology designed to detect micro-defects previously identifiable only by highly experienced operators. Gazi Metal is currently evaluating its implementation to further enhance quality control capabilities.
