Tenova’s NextGen® System will provide enhanced EAF efficiency, real-time monitoring, and control capabilities.
Tenova Goodfellow Inc. was contracted by leading Korean steelmaker Dongkuk Steel Mill Co. Ltd. for the supply and installation of Tenova’s NextGen® System at their Incheon Plant in Dong-gu, Incheon, Republic of Korea.
The NextGen® System, designed for Dongkuk Steel's 120-ton AC shaft furnace, features advanced hardware and temperature sensors for off-gas measurement, which include two sampling stations and a central cabinet.
This system, characterized by its hybrid laser/extractive off-gas analysis, provides quicker analytical response times and a comprehensive range of process analyses, monitoring CO, H2O, CO2, O2, and H2. This enables operators to conduct real-time monitoring and control, reducing operational risks and enhancing production efficiency. In addition, the system's low maintenance requirements contribute to cost savings in both hardware and installation.
The installation and commissioning of the system is expected to be realized by end of 2024.
