Tenova signed a contract with Vinton Steel for the delivery of a state-of-the-art walking hearth reheating furnace. This partnership further strengthens the companies’ ongoing technological collaboration and highlights their commitment to innovation in high-quality steel production.
The furnace will be engineered to handle the demanding process requirements of high-carbon steel billets used for manufacturing large-diameter grinding media - a segment where Vinton Steel holds a leading regional position, currently driven by strong demand from the mining sector.
Designed to integrate seamlessly with the Green CityMill™ Flex - Vinton Steel’s recently announced project aimed at increasing rebar production capacity to 400,000 tons per year - the new reheating furnace will be central to the company’s growth and modernization strategy. The Green CityMill™ Flex represents one of the most efficient and sustainable platforms for long product steel manufacturing available on the market today. The reheating furnace is scheduled for commissioning in parallel with the Green CityMill™ Flex startup in the first half of 2027.
