Heat Treatment Lines for Forged Aluminium Parts
Forged parts made of Aluminium require individual heat treatment within a narrow temperature window for achieving optimum material properties, low deformation and minimal residual stress.
Overview
Forged parts made of Aluminium - for example chassis parts, suspensions and wheels - are subject to high stresses during operation. This requires careful, individual heat treatment.
Since these parts are of great relevance to safety, the requirements placed on the properties of the components are correspondingly high.
The heat treatment process typically consists of solution annealing at 460 to 540 ° C, quenching in water, water-polymer or air and artificial aging at 160 to 240 ° C. For both annealing processes we install in our furnaces the temperature homogeneity with +/- 3 K.
Our systems, with reversing air circulation in the heating zones, are suitable for particularly even heating of heavy, compact batches and loose packing at the same. By this, the sensitive cast parts are heated very homogeneously and quickly.
Particularly with filigree parts for the aviation industry, the high-precision temperature and process control as well as the extremely fast immersion of the parts in the quenching medium play a decisive role. In our systems, we achieve a temperature homogeneity of better than +/- 3 K in the holding phase and transfer times from the furnace to the quenching system - the so-called quenching delay - of less than 7 seconds.
All systems can be equipped according to the AMS and CQI standards.
For large series, we offer continuous systems CHL, for small batch sizes chamber furnaces BHL and for large parts overhead batch furnaces OAL.
Features at a glance:
- Fast and even heating of complex batches by reversing flow
- High reproducibility of the heat treatment results
- Quenching with water, water-polymer or air
- Flexible choice of the quenching media
