The 2024 Report brings together its metals and mining businesses Tenova and TAKRAF in single report.
Today, Tenova Group published its Sustainability Report 2024 in a Group first, combing the contributions of its two businesses Tenova and TAKRAF. The 2024 Report documents headway the Group has made in its sustainability strategy, detailing how its businesses work with clients, partners, and stakeholders to drive positive change guided by an ESG-informed sustainability framework. It also highlights the extensive steps taken to track and measure its ESG performance, including quantifying its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions across all its operations.
The Report is structured around two complementary sections. The first presents how the Group develops innovative technologies to reduce environmental impact, improve safety and energy efficiency, and enable recovery and reuse of materials. The second outlines how the Group measures and improves ESG performance, including emissions, employee well-being, diversity, governance, and supply chain sustainability.
In 2024, Tenova and TAKRAF advanced landmark projects such as the hydrogen-based DRI plant for Baosteel (the largest of its kind in China), advanced electrolytic cells for MP Materials (first commercial-scale rare earth metals production in the United States), a high-productivity Electric Arc Furnace for TATA Steel UK, and DELKOR dewatering equipment for Codelco’s North operations (the world’s largest thickened tailings project).
