Rotary Bell-Type Annealing Furnace (R-BAF) for Silicon Steel Strip
The rotary bell-type annealing furnace has been developed at the end of the 1960s and is to be understood as a combination of a large rotary furnace with the process technology of the multi stack bell type annealing furnace (M-BAF).
Overview
The rotary bell type furnace is an alternative to reach similar strip quality to the multi stack bell type annealing (M-BAF) for the high temperature annealing of cold rolled silicon steel strip coils.
Compared to the M-BAF technology, higher space requirements, higher maintenance requirements and much less flexibility has to be accepted.
