iEAF® Chemical Energy Control
Tenova’s i EAF® dynamic chemical energy control is IN 4.0 technology that utilizes closed-loop-control methodology for continuous off-gas analysis with guaranteed optimal “in-EAF” chemical energy and can be fully integrated with plant automation system.
Overview
iEAF® chemical energy control and optimization is based on the NextGen® system for continuous off-gas analysis to dynamically control and optimize chemical energy inputs. The module is used to:
Optimize burners, lances and injectors
Lock in the optimized practice with a proven closed-loop control methodology that is fully integrated with the plant automation system
To complete a real-time Mass & Energy Balance
Technical Data
Benefits of dynamic energy control include:
Reduced operating costs
Reduced carbon, oxygen, methane & electrical energy consumption
Reduces electrode & refractory consumption
Increased productivity & yield
Innovation
Dynamic control of the furnace atmosphere ensures the maximization of overall energy efficiency.
Digital
Web based HMI software and screens show EAF operating data and off-gas measurements and are available for plant operators and plant’s Level 1 & 2 network as required.
Automation
Fundamental models together with full spectrum off-gas analysis, off-gas sensors (flow, temperature & pressure) and a Level 1&2 PLC link provides all critical operating data measurements (with no guesses or assumptions) needed for the most precise M&E Balance calculations.
The fume system can also be dynamically controlled to avoid over-drafting or under-drafting conditions.
Reduced GHG emissions.
