Indian alloy steel producer AISRM has recently placed an order with Tenova Italimpianti for the supply of a new 42 t/h Walking Beam Furnace (WBF). The new furnace will ensure high efficiency, optimized performance, and minimized emissions, supporting AISRM’s goal of becoming a leading provider of high-quality alloy steel with one of the lowest carbon footprints in the country.
The new furnace is specifically designed to handle a range of alloy-grade products, including low alloy steel, ball-bearing steel, spring steel, and medium to high alloy steel, aligning with AISRM’s diverse production needs. Engineered to deliver optimal thermal quality, the furnace ensures high efficiency and reliable performance under all operating conditions, accommodating both cold and hot charging.
Additionally, it features a dual-fuel firing system, in preparation for a future transition to furnace oil.
The combustion system is specifically designed to optimize performance by enhancing flame characteristics, improving efficiency, and minimizing pollutant emissions through the careful selection of burners from Tenova's extensive and eco-friendly range, specifically the LOW NOx burners.
