Overview
The DCR is a step in the production of light gauge tinplate after the recrystallization process in the annealing furnaces. The Two Stand Double Reduction mills plays a key role in obtaining an ultra-light strip gauge that also combines desired hardness, thereby ensuring superior strip surface and profile quality.
This versatile machine is designed to meet the market’s constantly evolving demands. The First Stand of the mill serves a dual purpose, handling both cold reduction and tempering effectively, while the second mill stand is exclusively dedicated to tempering, enhancing the surface finish of the outgoing strip.
Tenova's DCRs are outfitted with cutting-edge measuring and process control systems, guaranteeing the highest quality standards for tinplate production. Precise strip thickness control is achieved through a combination of feedback, feedforward, and mass-flow control.
Furthermore, Tenova mills boast a comprehensive range of advanced features. These include high-performance AGC Cylinders, Automatic Flatness Control (AFC), Positive and Negative work roll bending, Continuous Pass-line adjustment, and Quick work roll changing systems. Our Double Cold Reduction mill (DCR) incorporates the latest technological advancements and comprises the following key components:
- Uncoiling Section: Featuring a payoff reel, coil centre positioning system, pinch roll, entry bridle roll, and automatic pup-coil removal system.
- Tension Reel: Equipped with a belt wrapper, automatic spool loading unit, and coiling auxiliary devices.
- Entry, Interstand, and Exit Groups: Comprising shears, spray cooling system, a drying system, roll polishing devices, speed laser sensors, x-ray thickness gauges for a close loop Automatic Gauge Control (AGC), and tensiometer rolls.
- Two Mill Stands: These stands are designed with a 4-high configuration, rolling force cylinders, and continuous wedge pass-line adjustment. They also include positive and negative work roll bending in Mae-West blocks, a quick work roll changing system (side shifting), and work roll drive.
- Auxiliary Equipment: Consisting of high and low-pressure hydraulic systems, emulsion oil filtration and delivery system, wet tempering system, air-oil lubrication unit, gear lube system, and a fumes exhaust system.
