iBOF® technology is a comprehensive array of automation & process control modules designed to increase productivity & yield, reduce GHG & particulate emissions and lower operating costs for all aspects of the BOF Process from Charge Management, Oxygen Blowing to Secondary Metallurgy & Degassing.
Overview
iBOF® control modules include Level 2 Automation, Charge Management, Slop Control, Endpoint Control, Auto-Tapping & Slag Carryover Control. Each control module operates independently of each other and can be added separately or as a complete iBOF® solution.
iBOF® control modules work in tandem with the hybrid/extractive NextGen® multipoint off-gas analysis system which utilizes advanced cameras & sensors.

This innovation enables remote hardware health monitoring, remote process control model performance monitoring, KPI driven dashboards and remote system diagnostics for rapid, effective technical support and system repair.
Using Tenova’s innovative Data Portal and through remote access, process control models can also be quickly retrained to keep them at peak performance intune with current operating practices.
In addition, the large data pool enables Tenova’s data scientests & engineers to develop improved process control models that can benefit from cross correlation analysis using multiple iBOF® Control Modules.
